Results of our newly designed model and approach to substance abuse treatment

  • A 38% higher rate of completion from the program compared to a year ago
  • Reporting shows that we have had clients relapse less frequently in the 3-month period subsequent to treatment efforts
  • We have had an increase of 58% in continued treatment in outpatient services after completing the program which has shown to be one of the three most important aspects of recovery, length of time in recovery
  • There has been a 64% decrease in criminal recidivism once a client has successfully completed the SRC program following a 1 year period of time
  • We have had over 65% of our clients find employment within 90 days after residential treatment, and 96% of those individuals staying employed longer than one year.

Our philosophy predicates that recovery is a process that entails the individual, his or her family and friends, and the community as a whole. As such, it is important to rebuild the connections to society and find ways to do so that enhances recovery success. Our mastery comes through seeing the potential of an individual and connecting that energy with practical life modification.

Why are we "SO" successful as a short term program?

  • No single treatment is appropriate for all individuals. Matching treatment settings, interventions, and services to each individual's particular problems and needs is critical to his or her ultimate success in returning to productive functioning in the family, workplace, and society.
  • Effective treatment attends to multiple needs of the individual, not just his or her drug use. In order to be effective, we will address the individual's drug use and any associated medical, psychological, social, vocational, and legal problems.
  • Addicted or drug-abusing individuals with co-existing mental disorders should have both disorders treated in an integrated way. Because addictive disorders and mental disorders often occur in the same individual, clients presenting for either condition should be assessed and treated for the co-occurrence of the other type of disorder.
  • Recovery from drug addiction can be a long-term process and frequently requires multiple episodes of treatment. As with other chronic illnesses, relapses to drug use can occur during or after successful treatment episodes.
  • Individual and/or group and other behavioral therapies are critical components of effective treatment for addiction. In therapy, clients address issues of motivation, build skills to resist drug use, replace drug-using activities with constructive and rewarding non-drug-using activities, and improve problem-solving abilities. Behavioral therapy also facilitates interpersonal relationships and the individual's ability to function in the family and community.
  • Remaining in treatment for an adequate period of time is critical for treatment effectiveness. The appropriate duration for an individual depends on his or her problems and needs. Research indicates that for most clients, the threshold of significant improvement is reached at about 3 months in treatment. After this threshold is reached, additional treatment can produce further progress toward recovery. We use Motivational Interviewing techniques to avoid individuals leaving treatment prematurely.
